Defense Dept.: Syria air strikes 'successfully hit every target'
The U.S.-led air strikes that struck Syrian chemical weapons facilities were deemed a success Saturday by Defense Department officials.
Pentagon officials — backing President Trump’s positive assessment of the strikes — broke down the bombardment in a detailed briefing that illustrated the military might used in in response to a suspected poison gas attack.
The 4 a.m. assault, which was carried out by a coalition of American, British and French forces, “successfully hit every target,” according to Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White.
